Stella Maris

An apartment high above Dubai Marina, reduced to almost nothing: warm grey walls, pale oak underfoot, and Italian furniture chosen for its lines rather than its presence. The only ornament is light — thin black channels drawn across the ceilings, soft coves along the walls — and the entrance is lined in oak, so arriving feels like passing through a single timber box.

The kitchen hides everything behind flush doors; a table slides out of the island when needed. In the master suite the bathroom is enclosed in glass rather than walls, so the jacuzzi becomes part of the room and shares its view of the towers.
