Spirit Gastrobar

Two hundred and twenty square metres in central St Petersburg, and the studio's furthest project from Dubai.

A gastrobar has to work at two speeds — a drink at the counter and a long table of friends — and the room is built to hold both at once. Metal, layered lighting and a mix of harder and softer surfaces keep it modern without going cold: the light does most of the work, dropping through the evening so the same room reads differently at eight and at midnight.
