Donmax Cinema

Concept

Red lines, from lobby to screen

The first concept for a new chain of cinemas in Kerala: a 1,600 m² multiplex in Kochi, imagined in a futuristic language that the chain could carry from city to city.

Glossy white lobbies are traced with red lines that run across floor, counters and walls like a circuit, leading to auditoriums in black and red, where a sculpted web relief lit in red frames the screen. A blue version of the hall was studied as an alternative.
